ABOUT THE TEAM

Nicole & Seth Nfonoyim-Hara are the makers and team leads of the TOWN CUBE Prototype. They are deeply committed to issues of diversity, social justice, and empowering underrepresented and historically marginalized communities. 

 

Seth is a Senior Engineer and Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic. Seth earned his Bachelor of Science in engineering with a minor in Spanish from Swarthmore College and then completed his doctorate in biomedical engineering in the Biomedical Microsystems Laboratory at the University of Southern California. He serves as a STEM mentor at the Rochester Boys and Girls Club and has been a production team member of the Day of the Dead Poets Slam and the MidWest Mixed Conference. 

Nicole is a writer and anthropologist. She holds a Master of Science degree in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford, England and a BA in Anthropology/Sociology and Latin American Studies from Swarthmore College. Her research in migration and urban anthropology at the University of Oxford focused on local government policies and strategies of city-branding and placemaking to address undocumented migration. She supports a number of community organizations in Rochester as a grantwriter, project manager, and volunteer. Her writing has been recognized by the Minnesota State Arts Board, the Loft Literary Center, and the Givens Foundation for African-American Literature.
